ACTivate

Perform your best act ever...

without the chaos of events messing everything up!

You've created an epic piece of choreography and performed it brilliantly in the studio, but then you get to the event and the stage size is wrong, you're performing in the dark, and the DJ plays the wrong song....

Whether you've experienced this or not, without the right technical elements in place, even the best act can fail.

💡 That’s why I created ACTivate!

It’s an Act Production course designed to give you the knowledge, skills and tools to level up the technical production of your act, and deliver an all around high quality performance!

The reality is, most event planners don’t have a theater background.

And they've hired you to deliver an impactful performance without knowing what really goes into producing high level entertainment.

So how can you set yourself up for success even if you don't know the first thing about tech?

Learn everything you need to know about producing live entertainment at events - and confidently orchestrate all the technical support you need!

By the end of this course, you’ll:

  • Grasp the difference between performing in theaters and at events, and know how to adapt your act for different event scenarios
  • Understand what event vendors make up a production team and learn event industry lingo to speak their language
  • Understand common lighting, audio and staging options at events and create a tech rider
  • Learn theatrical lighting fundamentals and create a lighting plan for your act
  • See what goes into a production schedule and run of show, and build a cue sheet for your act

Stop wondering if all the technical elements will magically line up for you, and ensure an impactful performance!

Frequently Asked Questions:

When are the live workshops?
Interactive zoom workshops are on Tuesdays from noon-1pm ET.

If you can’t make the live workshops, don’t worry! A replay will be posted the next morning.

And, you’ll get a chance to ask questions in our group video chat. So you’ll still have direct access to Ileigh and your course mates for motivation and support even if you can’t join us on Tuesdays.

I’m super busy right now, will you offer this again later?

Your time is your most precious resource, so I made this course with that in mind.

Even if you just spend 30-60 minutes per week you’ll know how to level up all the technical elements of performing at events.

Plus, the templates we’ve created are worth the value of the course alone! They are guaranteed to be a massive time saver, so any time invested in the course will save oodles of time on future events.

If you can’t join us for this live round, I will offer this as an on-demand course without the instructor feedback and group video chat sometime in the future.

What if I’m already using tech riders?

Great! You’ll get a chance to get feedback from the instructor on your tech riders.

And most importantly, you’ll learn how to effectively communicate your needs before and during an event to make sure all the elements in your tech rider are taken care of!

What if I don’t know the first thing about tech?

Even if you have ZERO experience with the tech side of performing, you’ll know enough fundamentals and lingo to talk to your tech team (and event planner) like an experienced professional.

This will instantly increase your value as a performer that knows how to make a performance go off without a hitch!

I just want to perform, do I really need to learn about tech?

The reality is that performing at events can be a crap shoot when it comes to tech.

If you’re performing in the dark or you have lousy audio, even the best choreography can fall flat.

But the audience won’t really know why the experience wasn’t great, they may just think you are a mediocre performer.

And I want to help prevent that from happening to you!
